A Kaboom Clone is a Minecraft server running kaboomserver/server (commonly via kaboomserver/framework)-like software.

How to create one?

You can create a Kaboom clone in numerous different ways, however most of the methods all boil down to (around) the same steps:

  1. Get a server, this can be an old computer, your own, or a VPS, running the Linux OS.
  2. Create a user called server. (ensure a home directory is being created and is the default one)
  3. Install git.
  4. Log in as server, you can do this by running su - server. Enter the home directory by running cd ~/.
  5. Download kaboomserver/framework, you can do this by running git clone https://github.com/kaboomserver/framework.
  6. Clone the server repository using git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/kaboomserver/server.git server-default, and run cp -r server-default/ server/ to initiate the server directory.
  7. Run ~/framework/script/init.sh to start the server, if desired.
  8. Log out of server, you can do this by running exit.
  9. Add kaboomserver/framework/config/crontab to /etc/crontab.

How to make my clone public?

  1. Forward 25565/TCP and 19132/UDP.
  2. If you're using iptables, run these commands as root.
